This would be such a blessing if this bill is passed. I just graduated from college a year ago, thinking I could get a job in my field, because most companies are looking for experience, it is hard for me. And now I am paying for my student loans as we speak. The private loan and also federal stafford loan. I am so much in debt as it is, I would volunteer to do whatever I can to clear up my student loans.

HECK YEAH!!! I've been waiting on this too. Since I do so much outreach and education to under-served audiences anyway, I would love to be able to "work' my student debt off. And since I'm a scientist, I'm really hoping that gets me extra points - since Obama is pro-science/education/technology.

I just hope the bill allows for some other way to work off your debt than teaching K-12 school (which I know I could do now). I'd rather do "science" or informal teaching - like afterschool, summer science camps, mentoring students and teachers, as opposed to classroom teaching.

I want this, too. See you aroung the community service watering hole.

    Please God let this pass..
That Obama team is so common sense driven it is plain genius. Even if it doesnt pass, I pat myself on the back for voting for a team that has the balls to come up with such an idea! This program would even encourage me to get a graduate degree. Times are hard. I would be happy to work cus I sure as hell cant pay.

I am all for it. It would encourage people to help give back more to their communities and country and help people reduce student loan debt.

When can I start!!!!!! I have been paying my student loans for over 10 years and the balance looks as if I haven't made a payment. Count me in!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I've been working for non-profit for 14 years now. Can I use some of those years? We all know when your working for non-profit your not working for the money. We have actually lost every benefit we had (health, life, eyes and dental, etc.), been cut wages, had to take weeks of with pay. And if that's not enough they're thinking about closing the doors. This is a historical learning center for children serving ages 0-5 and up to 12 during the summer. It was started by Dr. W.E.B. Dubois and Gertrude Ware in 1905. WHERE IS THE LOVE???? HELP ME PLEASE MR. PRESIDENT!
